Love those post-run endorphins? There are so many running events in Phelps County! From a full marathon to family-friendly runs and walks, your list of races to register for this fall season is sure to grow a little longer!
Gold Rush 5K – October 16
Hosted by Missouri S&T, this family-friendly event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels – whether you’re walking your first 5K or you’re a seasoned runner. A portion of the proceeds will support Missouri S&T’s Health and Wellness Fund.
Pink Out 5K Color Run/Walk – October 16
Join Zeta Tau Alpha for their 5K Pink-Out color run, where pink colored powder will be thrown at each mile marker to support the ZTA Foundation to fund scholarships, educational programming, leadership development, and the fight against breast cancer.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s – October 23
The Alzheimer’s Association is walking in 2021, and they invite you to join them as they raise funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. This walk takes place on October 23 at Lions Club Park!
Gail’s Rock Run 5K & Fun Run – October 23
This race is in remembrance of Gail Drallmeier, who lived her life to the fullest, with no time to waste! Proceeds from this event will benefit the St. Patrick elementary Angel Fund, which assists in a variety of ways in giving financial assistance to students in need.
Bonehead 5K/10K – October 30
It’s spooky season, meaning it’s also time for the annual Bonehead 5K/10K! Wear your best costume and run through the streets of downtown Rolla, but don’t forget to grab a post-race beer at Public House! A portion of the proceeds will benefit Rolla’s Ozark Actors Theatre.
I’m Running with Teachers 5K – November 13
The Rolla Community Teachers Association is hosting their 2nd Annual I’m Running with Teachers 5K! Proceeds from this event will supplement a scholarship fund for Rolla High School seniors who aspire to be teachers.
Honoring Our Heroes Marathon – November 20
“All gave some…some gave all.” We are free to run, thanks to the men and women who have defended this great country of ours. Honoring Our Heroes Marathon is from Salem to Rolla and raises funds for local veterans’ causes. Not up for a full marathon? This course has half marathon, 10K, 5K, relay, and virtual options as well!
Galloping Gobbler 5K/10K – November 25
Time to earn that Thanksgiving dinner! The annual Galloping Gobbler takes place on Thanksgiving morning at Veterans Memorial Park. Proceeds from this event benefit the Friday Backpack Program that’s ran by Hope Alliance of Missouri.
