Spring Native Plant Sale
Meramec Hills Chapter of Missouri Master Naturalists and Paradoxa Chapter of the Missouri Native Plant Society are sponsoring a native plant sale on Saturday, May 14, at the Saturday Rolla Farmers Market in the Big Lots parking lot with vendors available from 7:30am – 1:00pm.
Whether your garden is sunny or shaded, your soil wet or dry, our vendors Prairie Hill Farm and Doolittle Gardens will have plants to suit your growing conditions. As native Missouri plants have adapted to our local climate and soils and are part of our native ecosystems, they can provide beauty in all seasons with less maintenance and the greatest benefit to wildlife.
Plant experts will be on hand to assist customers with their selections and share resources on gardening with native plants. Be sure to come out to the Big Lots parking lot for the Saturday Farmer’s Market to get your Missouri native plants from 7:30am to 1:00pm on May 14th. For those interested in learning more ahead of the plant sale, landscape design plans using natives and information on beneficial alternatives to harmful ornamental plants can be found at http://grownative.org/.
