Happy (almost) 4th of July! All over the United States, Independence Day is celebrated with food, parades, flags, and especially fireworks!
Here in Phelps County, the annual Lions Club Carnival is an event that happens to be a remarkable one and takes place throughout 4 days of fun. From food, games, rides, prizes, fireworks, and a car raffle, Lions Club Carnival has something for everyone. Feel free to sit lakeside at the beautiful Lions Club Park and enjoy a state-of-the-art firework display. Best of all, admission is free! For more information regarding the Carnival, please visit the Rolla Lions Club Facebook Page.
As far as purchasing your own fireworks, Rolla’s got you covered with a multitude of firework shops around the area, many of them located in parking lots along South Bishop in Rolla, and the popular Jane’s Fireworks in St. James.
Along with a firework show at the Lions Club Park, the St. James fireworks are displayed at 9:30 pm on July 4th from the Middle School grounds, with the best spectating areas located at Hutcheson Ford, First Assembly of God, Church of God, and the Tourist Information Center.
You can see the possibilities for fun this 4th in Rolla are endless. From fireworks and carnival rides, to stuffing yourself with red, white and blue foods, there’s no end to the fun to be had on America’s birthday.
