The county fair, or agricultural fair as it is sometimes called, was originally formed to give our rural ancestors a break from the farm and show off their prized livestock, produce, and other goods. Today, fairs give communities a chance to show off unique habits and talents and are a great expression of a county’s personality.
Located along the historic Route 66 is the Phelps County Fair, three fun-filled days of carnival rides, derby’s, pageants, livestock events, entertainment, and so much more! Parking is free, admission is cheap, and there is something for the whole family. The Phelps County Fair is August 5 – 7, with season passes available for only $25 in advance. Passes are available at participating locations or can be purchased online at www.phelpscountyfair.com.
Mark your calendars for a day at the fair! The carnival is calling, and there’s some popcorn with your name on it!
