Route 66 Jogger

The Rolla Visitor Center sees hundreds of visitors from around the globe driving the famous Route 66 by car, bus, motorcycle or even in a convoy of classic cars. But last summer a special visitor came through Rolla that was traveling the historic route……….on foot! Emory Duick, age 71, embarked on journey of jogging the entire Route 66 from Illinois to California. On June 2nd Duick began his expedition in Illinois. Two hundred eleven days and five pair of tennis shoes later, he completed his jouney in Santa Monica, California
Lauren Duick , Emory Duick’s daughter, served as the support vehicle for the vivacious jogger. Congratulations to the two of them for conquering the “Mother Road”!
